Finding your Content Tilt

To have an effective content marketing strategy you need to have a content tilt.

I heard this concept from content marketing expert, Joe Pulizzi on the Social Media Marketing Podcast.

A content tilt is taking your niche or area of expertise and putting applying your view of the subject.

You need a unique perspective so that you will stand out from the overwhelming noise on the web.

Content Research

Research is critical to finding effective, relative content.

Who is your target market?

What would they type into google to find information about your business?

Find the keywords that work with your content so you can get found online.

Content Schedule

Scheduling is a must for entrepreneurs.

You need to have a detailed schedule for producing and posting your content.

Without a schedule it’s almost impossible to keep up with consistent content online.

You can use Google calendar or any other calendar program to manage your content.

I generally create a list in Evernote of content ideas and then schedule those ideas in my iCalendar on my Mac.
