5 Tips To Create A Social Media Schedule

1. Use a scheduling tool.

Social media schedule tools are a necessity.

Without these tools you cannot keep up with social media for your business.

It literally takes hours each day to post as often as you should in order to make it impactful.

My favorite of the social media schedule tools is Hootsuite.

Hootesuite is great for Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and LinkedIn.

For an in-depth look at how to use Hootesuite check out this previous post: Hootsuite Review

2. Determine the best time of day.

Each platform has ideal times for posting.

CoSchedule did a blog post compiled data from several different studies and here’s what they found…

Because the largest populations in the U.S. are based in the Eastern and Central time zones, these times are based on those time zones.

Best time to post on Facebook = Thursday – Friday between 1:00pm – 4:00pm over the weekend.

Best time to post on Twitter = Weekdays between 12:00pm – 3:00pm and a peak time at 5:00pm.

Best time to post on LinkedIn = Tuesday – Thursday between 7:30am – 8:30am and 5;00pm – 6:00pm.

Best time to post on Google+ = Weekdays between 9:00am – 11:00am.

Best time to post on PInterest = Saturday nights between 8:00pm – 1100pm and every day between 2:00am – 4:00pm, 2:00pm – 4:00pm.

Best time to post on Instagram = Every day is good for posting with Mondays being a peak day. Photos any time and videos between 8:00pm – 8:00am.

3. Know how often to post.

Posting too much or too little can have a huge impact on your effectiveness.

Again, this varies from platform to platform.

From my experience and other online marketers that I have spoken with, this is the frequency I recommend.

Facebook = 1 – 3 times per day

Twitter = 10 – 15 times per day

LinkedIn = 1 time per day

Google+ = 3-4 times per day

Pinterest = 5 – 8 times per day

Instagram = 5 – 8 times per day

4. Repost.

The great thing about creating original content on the internet is that it stays out there.

Be sure to share and repost your content on a regular basis.

As long as your content is still relevant, there are others out there that may find your older content useful.

5. Be consistent.

This is THE MOST IMPORTANT tip I can give you.

People want to follow others who are active and post regularly.

You need a social media schedule that keeps your accounts active.

Be sure to use a mixture of scheduled posts and real time content.

If you stay consistent your following will grow and your business will grow along with it.

I hope you found some value with these social media schedule tips. If you did please like, comment and share.
