Blog Post Template Elements
1. Featured Image
Regardless of which theme you use in wordpress you always want to include a featured image in all your posts.
Images are a critical element to a successful blog posts.
People have come to expect visual content on the internet today and they have to be prominent in you blog post template.
Your images need to be professional, relevant and eye-catching.
2. Introduction
Always keep the introduction brief.
People are impatient.
Hit the main point and get into the content.
3. Video Embed
Just like with the image, people want visual content.
That’s why I include a video in each of my blog posts.
They are not fancy just some minor editing but I build the video around the keyword that I have chosen for the post.
[ctt title=”“Social media sites and video go hand-in-hand, and most sites encourage video posting and sharing. The viral video opportunities are endless when you use the right strategies to create and post your videos online.” – Amy Porterfield” tweet=”“Social media sites and video go hand-in-hand…” – @AmyPorterfield http://bit.ly/1OfpV0V from @stvstark #VideoMarketing” coverup=”6lTbk”]
4. Call to Action #1
Immediately below the video I place a Call to Action link.
The link either points to an affiliate product or to opti-in for my mailing lsit.
Either way I make this link a bold color like Orange or Red to stand out.
5. Written Content
This area of the blog post template is for the readers.
While there are fewer and fewer readers of content, there are still enough to make written content worthwhile.
The written content that I use in the post is a detailed synopsis of what the content I provide in the video.
I will occasionally add additional content as well.
One key factor with the written content is to include some external links.
This helps with SEO and may get others linking back to you.
6. Signature
At the end of the written content I include a signature.
This area is up to you and your personal preference.
I include a picture, my name, my phone number and skype name.
7. Call to Action #2 – The PS Line
At the bottom of every post I place a PS line.
I have had some success with the PS Lind and have also studied other marketers who have had a great deal of success from the PS line link.
Again, I link this to an affiliate product or an opt-in for my email list.
8. Related Links
Placing related links at the bottom of the page gives your readers a chance to hit more of your posts.
If they found your post interesting they may want to read other posts related to the topic they just read.
I use an app called Yet Another Related Posts Plugin. Works great and saves time for me not having to manually create those links.
This blog post format has been pretty successful for me, especially regarding lead generation.
I hope you found some value with my Blog Post Template. If you did please like, comment and share.
