It’s really hard to hit every new follower with a personal message.

A welcome message is a great way to find people willing to engage.
Just say hi and maybe share something of value with your new follower.
If you have a free ebook, guide, training video, etc. a gift can be a great engagement starter.
Automate Mentions
Acknowledging your new followers and those who share or like your content is also very important.
Give your new followers a shout out.
If someone likes or shares your tweet be sure to say thanks.
It is a social network.
Be social.
Automating mentions helps you keep up with those actions.
