First, I want to say that I hope you and your family are safe and healthy. This is a crazy time in our world. Something that none of us have experienced before.

Our world is changing and we need to be ready to change with it. The COVID-19 health crisis has forced many small businesses to close. The harsh and sad reality is that some may never reopen. Entire industries will be changed forever.

Right now we need to look at our businesses in a different way. When you look at your small business, are there ways you can provide products or services virtually? Many of you will immediately say no. There’s no way I can take my business online.

I just read a really good article from Jerry Jendusa, co-founder of Stuck Coaching. Here’s some great advice from that article.

“Don’t think about what your business can’t do, think about everything you can do.”

We know there are things that your small businesses can’t do when you have to close your storefront. But what are the things you CAN do?

You have expertise in your industry. You do! Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been able to open your business in the first place. There are a lot of ways you can leverage that expertise, and very likely, the expertise of your employees.

If you are in a niche market you have even greater potential. You can position yourself as THE expert in that niche. Most niche markets will have great opportunities for online revenue streams.

As a small business owner, think about the following questions

Can you teach a course related to your business?

Can you create written content demonstrating your expertise?

Can you create videos demonstrating your expertise?

Do you have a strong community of followers for your business?

Do you have products that you can sell online?

Can you provide 1 on 1 support or coaching?

Can you provide group coaching or training?

If you can answer yes to ANY of these questions then you can create an online revenue stream for your business.

Ideas for creating online revenue streams

Membership area on your website.

Paid Facebook group.

Sell your products through eBay, Etsy, Shopify or through your own website.

Paid webinars sharing your expertise.

Paid webinar series.

Live paid 1 on 1 virtual interactive training or consultation.

Live virtual classes.

There are many powerful and affordable options to take your business online. The tools today are amazing and much more affordable that they used to be.
