Should you be scheduling tweets?

If you want to build a following on Twitter then scheduling tweets is a must.

Running  a business takes everything you’ve got.

To be successful marketing on Twitter you have to remain active.

There are only so many hours in a day so you need a solution to keep your Twitter.

4 Tips For Scheduling Tweets Using Hootsuite

1. No duplicate tweets.

The Hootsuite program will not allow you to schedule duplicate tweets.

One way to use the same tweet multiple times is to change up the hashtags.

You can go to Hashtagify.me,  plugin a keyword and you will get suggestions on Hashtags.

2. Follow the formatting of the .csv file.

The most common mistake in formatting for the bulk upload is the date format.

The date format must be mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm

You can put your links in a separate column but I find it easier to just place any links right in the tweet content.

Here’s an image of the formating breakdown…

3. Limit of 350 schedules tweets/posts.

Hootsuite’s Pro Plan allows you to schedule up to 350 tweets and any one time.

I recommend doing about 10-12 tweets per day.

This frequency has helped me increase my followers by about 75 followers each week.

Twitter does have limitations on the number of tweets so you need to be careful not to do too many per hour.

The guidelines are a bit unclear. Just don’t over do it.

4. Mix in real-time tweets

If you have a fully automated and scheduled Twitter account, you will not get much for engagement.

You have to be involved in your tweet in real time as well as scheduling.

Start conversations and tweet about what’s happening right now.

Combine your scheduled tweets with  some real-time, relevant, and trending tweets and that is a recipe for success.

One thing to consider is manually scheduling tweets with images.

Twitter is becoming more and more visual and you need to take advantage of that.
