If your business is online then you need to have a strong call to action.

First, what is a call to action and why do you need one?

From Wikipedia:
In marketing, a call to action (CTA) is an instruction to the audience to provoke an immediate response, usually using an imperative verb such as “call now”, “find out more” or “visit a store today”.

Very simply, a call to action is what you want your reader or your viewer to do.

If you are marketing your business online then you should be trying to provide value to your target market.

Whether that is written information in an article or a tutorial in the form of a video, the key is to provide value and build trust.

When you do that you then need to tell you audience what you would like them to do.

It could be entering their name and email address on your website, clicking a link below a video or downloading a PDF in a blog post.

Whatever it is, you cannot assume that people will see it and know what you want them to do.

Make it simple and tell them.

In today’s video I give you the 6 steps to creating a strong call to action.

6 Tips for Creating a Strong Call To Action

1. Create a persuasive lead magnet.

A lead magnet is something you give away in exchange for information.

It could be an ebook, a check list, a white paper,  or an educational video or audio.

Regardless of what it is, it must provide value to your target market.

It has to entice the viewer to exchange their information for your lead magnet.

2. No obligation, no risk.

Your give-away must be FREE.

Otherwise it’s not a give away.

Let your audience know that there is absolutely no risk and no obligation for following your call to action.

3. Make it very simple.

Your call to action should be one step.

“Click this button”, “enter your information” or “download this report.”

Make the action as simple as possible and never assume that someone knows what you want them to do.

4. Evoke the pain & provide the solution.

What pain is your target market experiencing?

Asking this question will help you to create your lead magnet.

What common thinks are they struggling with?

What challenges are they facing?

It’s also what you should point out in your content and certainly in your call to action.

A strong call to action evokes pain in the audience and then points them to help or to a solution.

5. Use social proof.

Your audience wants to know that what you have has worked for others.

They need know, like and trust you in order to follow your call to action.

Social proof is the easiest and fastest way to build that trust with your audience.

Get a testimonial or give a couple of examples of people that you have already helped.

6. Offer a bonus.

Everyone wants a bonus!

What can you offer as a bonus to your lead magnet?

Literally any type of bonus will work.

It just needs ot be somewhat related to your give-away and something your audience finds valuable.

For example, iI might give away a ebook on how to set up your Facebook page for your business.

As a bonus, I may include a short video explaining 7 tips for creating engaging Facebook posts.

Or… maybe a PDF cheatsheet on how to run your first Facebook ad.

Whatever it is, make it useful and you will create a very strong call to action.

I hope you found value with today’s post.
